31/10/2015 - Took Woody to his final competition of the season today, Pony Club Winter Dengie Dressage League. We did a fab test for 76.4% winning the class by over 6 points! Meaning we have now qualified for the next rounds!! So very pleased with the score sheet consisting of mostly 8's!!! So with that being Woody's last competition he now has a month off to rest and relax, to then come back fresh and ready for a few winter competitions and fun! As for Seb, he now has lots of training, starting tomorrow!! So very proud of both of my boys this season, we have had a few ups and downs but coming out on top of all of them! Thank you to my mum, dad and partners, family and friends, coach Corrigan, Hannah, farriers, dentists, vet, mctimoney specialist and all the people that have helped and supported me!! THANK YOU!! Here's to a storming 2016!! Xx

Friday 23rd October we made the very short journey to Norton Disney BE, to compete in the BE80 with Woody. In a harsh marking section we got a respectable 33.3% leaving us 3rd after dressage, which with firstly looking at the score I was a little disappointed but knowing we were 3rd gave me a little more hope!! Show jumping, I had to ride a plank upright which made me a little all over the place for the next resulting in a stop... All my fault but we finished with 4faults and 2 time! Cross country we had an absolute blast finishing clear well inside the time to come 9th!! Then on Saturday we started the long journey to Addington Manor for the NSEA Champs to compete in the 80-85cm team! We arrived around 4:00 to a very wet and soggy addington meaning we had to swap stables to one which wasn't an inch deep in water... Sunday I decided to take Woody for a well deserved hack as he had been stood still for a long time. We were the second to last team to compete with the first person eliminated and the next to clear I had a little bit of pressure, but it was an amazing experience to jump in the main arena. We came home with 12faults, all poles, but I didn't care. We have come so far with our showjumping and I am so very proud of both of us! Such an amazing experience! On Saturday 10th October we travelled up to York for Askham Bryan BE 80. This was our first time at Askham so was pretty excited to see what it was like!! In our run up to Askham we had been to Speetly ODE and schooled round a 90-95-1m track so our showjumping situation was looking a lot better...! We had another amazing dressage of 28.0% which definitely could have been improved as we struck off on the wrong canter (which is a silly silly mistake...)which gave us a 5 straight away and we fell down a hole in the halt and so got a very generous 6.5! Showjumping looked inviting but I still had a few nerves... Had one unlucky pole, which was a real shame as we got an okay stride! We both thoroughly enjoyed cross country with 20 penalties which was all my fault as I didn't ride part A of a combination and he was already looking at part B... We had one stop but still made the time which I am still pretty surprised about as well!! On the hole a really encouraging day and we are both looking forward to Norton Disney for our last BE event of the season!! |
